Nelisa is a  writer, performer (and helicopter plant mom) living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Some of her television credits include The River, which is currently airing on 1Magic and Netflix’s African original Blood and Water.

In March 2022 Nelisa was selected as one of 20 writers to participate in Series Mania's Writers Campus that was hosted in Lille, France. During the week long residency she developed her original dramedy The Bad Black under the guidance of the Writers Campus president Bryan Elsley (Skins, Kiss Me First)
